What a Family Court Judge Still Misses

My story helped craft a domestic violence law, yet a Family Court judge still dismisses coercive control. I’ve worked with experts for five years now, five years. Five years of screaming, crying, begging for help I deserve.

What kills me the most about it is I have physical safety — and because of behaviors I’ve witnessed in this system, I know many don’t.

And ten women just like me, entangled in the most useless system, despite repeated visible red flags have already been murdered this year. Hell, the woman who pushed forward Jennifers’ Law just resigned as a senator due to domestic violence and unresolved coercive control.

So why can’t family court see this?

Why do Family Court judges openly dismiss victims coming clean about the abuse they’ve faced? Still?
