A Connecticut Wedding: Madison Engagement Session
A Connecticut Engagement Session: Using your neighborhood to your advantage
Engagement photos are an absolute must before a Connecticut wedding. We got to know the Madison Connecticut area, first going to a small park in a beautiful neighborhood and then heading over to the Madison Beach Hotel before heading to town.
No matter how often someone has photographed an area you will always find nooks and crannies that haven’t been used the same way before. We always let a couple guide us, capturing the couple as they naturally are.
Always choose an activity for your engagement session for your Connecticut wedding.
We talk about this ALL the time but going to go DO something. Whether it’s a hike or going to check out books at your favorite book store, always do an action or two during your engagement session.
For Wilma and Seamus’ we chose to go for a walk in a park, down to the beach, out for coffee and then to a bookstore. By choosing to DO something during an engagement shoot, your focus turns to the action versus thinking about how you look in your photos.
Connecticut Wedding Tips: No one is a model.
Hardly anyone getting married is a model and I’ve certainly never photographed an actual model. And yet, the people I photograph are absolutely gorgeous. Most people get anxious about being in front of a camera and have never really been in front of one before.
We absolutely LOVE engagement sessions and getting to know our couples. Wilma and Seamus talked about their bachelor and bachelorette parties during the season and I cannot wait to find out how they go!
